How it will work

1

Upload the data sheet

The PDF from your supplier. The tool reads the hazards, exposure limits, PPE and first aid from it.

2

Say how it is used

Who handles it, where, how often, for how long, and which controls you already have. A data sheet can't tell us any of that.

3

Review, sign and keep

You get a dated document to check, edit and sign, ready for your next review.

Unlimited assessments, cancel any time. The tool isn't open yet, so there is nothing to pay today.

Do you need a COSHH assessment?

HSE says that if your business uses or creates harmful substances, or runs processes that could harm health, the law requires you to control the risks to workers. With 5 or more employees you must record your assessment. With fewer, HSE still advises writing down the steps you took. Lead and asbestos have their own regulations.

HSE tells employers to identify harmful substances by reading product labels and safety data sheets. The assessment goes further: who could be harmed, how, what controls are in place, what else is needed, who will do it and by when. Read HSE's guidance.

Is the tool open yet?

No. Reserving a place costs nothing and tells us whether to build it. We will email you once if it opens.

Who is responsible for the finished assessment?

You are. The duty to assess and control the risks stays with the employer, so you check, change and sign the document before relying on it.
